A 20-year-old Rohingya girl, identified as Sajeda, daughter of Azim Ullah from Camp 03, Block F72, was found dead near Leda New Bridge in Teknaf Upazila, Cox's Bazar District, Bangladesh, on Sunday, 21 September 2025.
According to local sources, on Thursday, 18 September, her father had reportedly sent her to travel to Malaysia through an illegal boat service. Three days later, her body was discovered near the bridge.
The family stated they had no prior knowledge of the incident until the recovery of Sajeda's body.
Teknaf police have launched an investigation, and the body remains in their custody.
This tragedy is another reminder of how fragile Rohingya lives have become — caught between danger at home and deadly risks at sea.
