A military junta airstrike targeted Wa Shi La village in Buthidaung Township, Rakhine State, at around 10:30 a.m. on 1 July, according to local residents.

A resident told Arakan Now on 1 July that several Rohingya civilians were injured in the attack, including a child who was seriously wounded and lost a leg. Others also sustained injuries.

On 2 July, the resident confirmed that the child, Sawdul Amin, approximately 12 years old and the son of Mohamed Basir from Wa Shi La village, died while receiving medical treatment.
