The UN General Assembly’s Third Committee has adopted by consensus a resolution on the situation of Rohingya Muslims, calling for renewed international efforts to ensure a durable solution to the crisis and to enable the safe, voluntary, and dignified return of Rohingyas to Myanmar.

The resolution—jointly tabled by the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the European Union (EU)—was cosponsored by 105 countries on Wednesday, according to the Bangladesh Permanent Mission to the UN in New York.

The adoption underscores continued global concern over the safety, rights, and future of Rohingyas, as well as the broader humanitarian and political situation in Myanmar.
