Three Rohingya people, including a woman, were Abducted by Arakan Army (AA) in Gudar Pyin Village, Buthidaung Township, on January 4, 2026, over allegations of providing food support and making illegal phone calls to ARSA, according to local sources.
Those Abductees were identified as Ajeda, 32; Rawyass, 35; and Mamed Reyas, 15 (an underage minor). Residents said a group of AA members from multiple departments entered the village and carried out the arrests.
Community members said the accusations were made without any evidence being presented.
"Our village has always been peaceful. Nothing happened here, and I have never seen ARSA members in this area," a villager told Arakan Now. "This is creating new tension in the community, and we fear it could have serious consequences. We hope this situation will end soon."
According to local sources, the three people are currently being abducted in Nay Mray 6 detention facility.
Residents expressed particular concern over the detention of the women, citing fears for her safety while in custody. Community members have urged the Arakan Army to release the three individuals immediately, saying the abductions have increased fear and insecurity among villagers.
