In a historic move, Rohingya refugees in the overcrowded camps of Cox’s Bazar have formed the Examination Board of Rohingya Refugees to reclaim the right to education for their children. The committee was formed on April 19, 2025, as a Temporary Education Committee, with 53 community-based primary, middle, and high schools joining. This board will coordinate schools, manage exams, process results through a central system, and oversee the assessment and announcement of exam results.

Since the brutal crackdown in 2017, which forced over a million Rohingya to flee Myanmar, children in the camps have faced an education crisis. Many students have struggled without standardized exams, recognized certificates, or a clear path to higher education.
