The Ad Hoc Ministerial Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Accountability for Human Rights Violations against the Rohingya held a pivotal meeting on Sunday, 22 June 2025, in Istanbul, Republic of Türkiye. The session took place on the sidelines of the 51st Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM).


The meeting was chaired by H.E. Dr. Mamadou Tangara, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Gambians Abroad. Also in attendance was H.E. Mr. Yousef bin Mohammed Al-Dubaie, OIC Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs.


The Committee reiterated its strong support for the case filed by The Gambia against Myanmar at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), a landmark legal effort aimed at achieving justice and ensuring accountability for the Rohingya people.


Committee members also exchanged views on recent developments concerning the plight of the Rohingya, emphasizing the importance of sustained international advocacy and legal action to uphold the rights of the Rohingya community.
