Japan committed USD 17.5 million in March 2026 to support Rohingya refugees and host communities in Bangladesh, at a time of rising needs and declining global funding, according to the Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh.

This support is being delivered through United Nations agencies (USD 16.5 million) and Japanese NGO partners (USD 1 million), including IVY, Peace Winds Japan, Plan International Japan, Save the Children Japan, and World Vision Japan.

Japan remains committed to standing with the people of Bangladesh and supporting vulnerable communities through humanitarian assistance and resilience-building efforts.
