Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman has said that a durable solution to the Rohingya crisis lies in Myanmar’s Rakhine State, urging the international community to intensify efforts for the safe, dignified, and voluntary repatriation of displaced Rohingyas, according to Dhaka Tribune.

He made the remarks while speaking as a panellist at a session titled “Global Refugee Protection System in the Face of Displacement Crisis” at the ongoing Antalya Diplomacy Forum 2026 in Turkey on Friday.

The foreign minister said the international community must move beyond humanitarian assistance and play a more proactive and results-oriented role in creating favourable conditions in Rakhine for the return of Rohingyas.

Expressing deep concern over declining international donor support, he called for increased funding, the restoration of stability and security in Rakhine, and urgent steps to safeguard human rights.

Dr Rahman also noted that since assuming office, both the Government of Myanmar and the Arakan Army have welcomed him.

He said the Rohingya crisis is a solvable issue, but it requires a coordinated global approach and sustained international cooperation.
