Elderly Man Dies After Hours–Long Wait At Overcrowded GFD Center in Camp 17

An old man named Shafi Ullah died in a Bangladesh refugee camp soon after returning home from the WFP General Food Distribution (GFD) center on today.

People in the camp said the GFD center was overcrowded and poorly managed, and Shafi Ullah had to wait in line for many hours to collect rations. He became very tired and weak.

Soon after reaching home, he collapsed and passed away.

Camp residents blame the mismanagement of the GFD center for his death and are calling for better system to protect elderly and weak people during food distribution.
