A delegation from Bangladesh’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led by Shama Obaed Islam, visited Rohingya camps in Cox’s Bazar on Tuesday.

According to the Bangladesh Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the delegation toured camps in Ukhiya Upazila and observed humanitarian services, including food distribution centers, schools, a hospital run by Doctors Without Borders (MSF), and a factory operated by Rohingya women in Kutupalong.

During the visit, the state minister met Rohingya community representatives, including youth and women leaders, and said Bangladesh would continue efforts to improve camp conditions and support the safe and dignified return of Rohingya refugees to Rakhine State.

Officials from the UN, NGOs, and security agencies also joined a stakeholder meeting in Cox’s Bazar focused on the Rohingya crisis.

The visit marked the first high-level Foreign Ministry trip to the camps since the BNP-led government took office.
