Bangladesh Begins Distribution of Legal SIM Cards to Rohingya Community

Today, at the Office of the Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner (RRRC) in Cox’s Bazar, Commissioner Mirzanu Rahman handed over the first legal SIM cards to the elected president of the United Council of Rohang (UCR) and its executive members.
The initiative, taken by the Government of Bangladesh, aims to provide legal communication access to Rohingya refugees living in the camps.
According to the RRRC, 10,000 SIM cards will be distributed in the first phase, and all refugees are expected to receive their legal SIM cards in the coming days.
