The Arakan Army (AA) has established a new Rakhine settlement in Sin Oe Pyin, a village formerly inhabited by Rohingya residents. According to local sources, the new settlement now includes more than 100 households.
After resettling Rakhine families in the area, the AA has reportedly provided weapons to the settlers, raising serious concerns among the remaining Rohingya population.
A local resident told Arakan Now that since the settlers were armed, Rohingya are no longer allowed to pass through or move freely across Sin Oe Pyin. These movement restrictions have effectively cut off main access routes that Rohingya previously relied on
Residents said Rohingya now must use an alternative, newly constructed road to travel through the area.
Residents say the situation has heightened fear and insecurity, further limiting Rohingya mobility and access to nearby areas.
