The Arakan Army has confiscated more than 120  acres of farmland and approximately 12 acres of cemetery land in Kin Daung Village, Buthidaung Township, according to local residents.

Villagers told Arakan Now that the land seizures began in April 2025 and have continued since then. The confiscated areas include paddy fields traditionally cultivated by Rohingya residents, as well as a cemetery that have long been used by the local community.

Sources said that Rohingya villagers are no longer allowed to cultivate the confiscated paddy fields, and the land remained unused for farming. However, the Arakan Army reportedly allows cattle to graze on the land and charges a fee of 10,000 MMK per cow.

Local residents said the confiscation of paddy fields has severely affected their livelihood, as rice cultivation is the main income and food for families in the village. The seizure of cemetery land has also caused serious concern among residents, who say it has disrupted long standing burial practices and deeply affected the community's religious and cultural traditions.
