The Arakan Army has abducted three underage Rohingya girls from Kin Taung village (Handaung) in Buthidaung Township for forced conscription, according to local sources.
The incident occurred a few days ago. The victims have been identified as:
Daughter of Bodi Alom
Daughter of Dobir
Daughter of Maung Sein
A resident told Arakan Now that the security situation has become critical, as the Arakan Army has been abducting both men and women, including underage children, for conscription.
“The villagers no longer know how to hide or escape,” the resident said. “Families are living in constant fear.”
He added that the suffering of the affected families is unimaginable.
“Some mothers begged the Arakan Army not to take their daughters. One mother said, ‘If you take my daughter, we will drink poison,’” the resident told Arakan Now.
Local sources say forced recruitment and abductions have increased in recent weeks in Rohingya villages in Buthidaung Township, leading to further displacement and fear among the remaining population.
Arakan Now continues to monitor the situation closely.
