The Arakan Army has returned all Bangladeshi SIM cards to residents of Sin Taung (စိန်တောင်), Kin Taung (ကင်းတောင်), and nearby villages located east of the Mayyu river in Buthidaung Township.
According to local sources, the AA called Rohingya villagers to a meeting on 18 October, where AA members reminded attendees not to share information with outside groups. After the briefing, the AA handed back the confiscated SIM cards.
A villager told Arakan Now that residents are being officially allowed to use Bangladeshi SIM cards again, adding that the community "appreciates the decision.
