AA collects lists of Displaced Families to Facilitate Return to Kya Kyet Pet Kan Pyin and Ywar Ma Villages

The Arakan Army (AA) is collecting lists of families from Kya Kyet Pet Kan Pyin (ကကျက်ဘက်ကံပြင်) and Ywar Ma (ရွာမ) villages in Buthidaung Township in preparation for their return to their original homes. The AA previously confirmed that residents of Kya Kyet Pet Kan Pyin / Tat Yar Ywar would be permitted to return, and local residents are now preparing to go back.

According to local sources, the AA has instructed community leaders in those villages to submit lists of remaining families along with the exact locations of their homes.

“We have already submitted the lists and all the required information,” one local resident told Arakan Now. “We hope we can return home soon.”

Since the fighting began in Buthidaung, displaced residents have been sheltering in nearby villages such as Sein Yin Pyin.
