Buthidaung, Arakan — Recently, the Arakan Army (AA) has reportedly begun relocating Rakhine residents from Rathedaung, Ponnajuan, and other areas to Buthidaung. The move comes amid rising tensions and the possibility of clashes with the Military Junta, according to local sources.

Residents of Rathedaung have been ordered by the AA to move to Buthidaung. Many families have already arrived, while others are still in the process of relocating.

One resident from Buthidaung told Arakan Now:

"Many Rakhine families have already arrived, and more continue to come. People are worried that the Arakan Army is planning to take over Rohingya land by settling Rakhine families here. It is heartbreaking to see our villages being emptied and our land given away while we have nowhere to go."

Local sources say the relocation has created deep anxiety among the affected families.
