The Arakan Army has ordered two Rohingya villages such Htet Ywar and Ka Kya Pet Kan Pyin, to build temporary shelters in the paddy fields of Let Wea Det Pyin Shey in Buthidaung Township.
A villager told Arakan Now, “We don’t know the real reason, but it’s said that the Arakan Army is accusing us of harboring ARSA members or using this as a reason.”
“With the rainy season coming soon, it’s not possible to stay in these huts. People are preparing to flee to Bangladesh instead,” the villager added.
Last month, the Arakan Army, using armed force, cleared 35 Rohingya villages in northern Buthidaung, as recorded by Arakan Now.
