Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are set to sign a landmark agreement aimed at resolving the long-standing issue of the legal status of Rohingya Muslims residing in the kingdom.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the embassy of Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, where he was received by Saudi Ambassador Nawaf Bin Saeed Al-Malki. During the meeting, both sides reviewed ongoing efforts to address the decades-old challenges faced by Rohingya communities living in Saudi Arabia.

According to officials, significant progress has been made, with both governments expressing commitment to finalising a mutually beneficial solution. Ambassadors Al-Malki thanked the government of Pakistan for its constructive role in moving the matter closer to resolution.

A formal agreement between the two countries is scheduled to be signed in Saudi Arabia in next week, marking a major step toward securing long-term legal protections for Rohingya.
